But it’s "way cool" to kick back, to stay up partying all night and to act like ‘everything you’re telling me is just blah-blah-blah’ (seen that T-shirt? It’s a hot sell.) Because life is supposed to come to you on a silver platter. Right? It takes a few hard knocks and years of experience to know that it never does. Nevertheless, our kids’ culture is ignorant of this. On the other hand, other cultures (including the karate culture) have been developing such social systems for thousands of years.
