Marc Pollak - Chief Instructor

Master Pollak began his training in Delaware, while attending the University of Delaware. His training was in American Kenpo under Jim Clapp. Upon moving back to New Jersey after college he continued his training under Ed Naugen in the same art. Master Pollak has always sought ways to improve his art and his teaching. In 1987 he got involved with a pressure point organization called the DKI (Dillman Karate International) and reached the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt.  He also did extensive training with the Late Professor Remy Presas in the art of Modern Arnis achieving the rank of Brown Belt, and under Professor Wally Jay in the art of Small Circle Ju-jitsu. In 1995 he joined the Dragon Society and began training with Grand Masters Tom Muncy and Rick Moneymaker and has earned the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt (Master Ranking) in Torite Jutsu and Okinawan Kempo Karate-Do making him the most senior rank in Torite Jutsu for the entire Northeastern United States.  Under Grand Masters Tom Muncy and Rick Moneymaker Master Pollak has also been awarded the position of Certified Senior Instructor in Torite Jutsu.  The highest Torite Jutsu Instructor Ranking in the Northeastern United States. In the Spring of 2000 Master Pollak was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Instructor of the Year. Master Pollak is Instructor College Certified by Black Belt Schools International.

Master Pollak also joined several organizations to help him learn how to better teach children.   He belonged to:

Knowledge alone is not power.  True power is the application of Knowledge.

Master Pollak applies what he has learned through all of these great organizations when he trains his instructors, when he personally teaches classes at RKA Family Karate and when he teaches seminars at other schools.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Victor Trinchera - Head Instructor

Mr. Trinchera is one of our very first students.  He began his martial arts training with Master Pollak in 1992.  Mr. Trinchera began studying with us at the Bridgewater rescue squad and grew with us through our first school in Bound Brook and now to our location in Bridgewater.  Mr. Victor is extremely well versed in the art of Torite Jutsu (the application of Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM as it is applied to the martial arts).  Mr. Victor is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Okinawan Kempo Karate-Do and 1st Dan in Torite Jutsu.  He is also instructor college certified.  Mr. Trinchera is available for private lessons in addition to the group classes.

 

 

Ray Hobson - Head Instructor

Mr. Hobson is also one of our very first students.   He began his martial arts training with Master Pollak and Master Frank Annese in 1996.  Mr. Hobson began studying with us at our first school in Bound Brook and has now rejoined us at our location in Bridgewater.  In between Mr. Hobson ran his own school in Flemington and we consider it an honor to have him back with as an asset in our school.  Mr. Hobson is extremely well versed in the art of Torite Jutsu (the application of Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM as it is applied to the martial arts).  Mr. Hobson holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Okinawan Kempo Karate-Do and will be testing shortly for his 1st Dan in Torite Jutsu.  He is also instructor college certified.  Mr. Hobson is available for private lessons in addition to the group classes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Laura Mario - Instructor/Enrollment Director


Miss Mario is our enrollment director here.  She will be the first person to teach you or your child on most occasions.  For this reason she is also our beginner kids instructor as well as our Little Dragons Instructor.  This consistency between the introductory lesson and the initial group classes makes acclimation to our program smoother.  She has done all of her Martial Arts training right here at RKA Family Karate.  She is the first line of contact with you here at the school and can handle all of your needs.   Miss Mario is available for private lessons in addition to the group classes. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Amber Saylor - Assistant Instructor

Miss Saylor has been training with us for over 10 years.  She has gone through our children's program and received her Junior Black Belt.  She then immediately started her teen/adult program and successfully advanced to the rank of Full Black Belt and holds a 1st Dan in Okinawan Kempo Karate-Do.  She is a great addition to our team and will continue to be a huge asset on our training floor.  Miss Saylor is available for private lessons in addition to the group classes.
